People’s Credit Union Supports Newport Lions Club’s Eye Health Program

People’s Credit Union has donated $750 to support the Newport Lions Club’s Eye Health Program. Each year, as their main service effort, the Newport Lions’ Eye Health Program performs eye screenings in schools on Aquidneck Island and provides further assistance for any student families in need of additional exams or eyeglasses. As Part of their Eye Health Program, the Lions Club also collects donated eyeglasses for distribution to needy children, adults, and the elderly.

“The Lions Club’s Eye Health Program plays a significant role in vison care not only for children here on Aquidneck Island but also everywhere else. Given the importance of good eyesight, People’s Credit Union is more than happy to assist the Lions Club’s screenings and eyeglass donations distribution efforts,” stated Deborah Maxwell, Middletown Head of Market Development for People’s Credit Union.
