Studio 10’s, Krystin Rae sits down with Erine Lewis, the Head of Risk at People’s Credit Union to discuss the uptick in check scams and also, Romance scams in the new year of 2024. When it comes to check scams, Erine Lewis recommends going into the post office instead of putting a check in an outdoor mailbox. When writing out a check, Lewis recommends using a gel-ink pen. For Romance scams, Erine recommends that you should never send large amounts of money to someone you don’t know or have never met in person.
