Member Connection – Winter 2021

Dear Member,

As we closed out 2020, your Credit Union continued its solid financial performance. We sincerely appreciate that you provided us the opportunity to serve your financial needs and remained patient as we continued to balance convenience with member and employee safety

Thank you.

Most of us are thankful to have 2020 behind us and are looking forward to moving past COVID-19. To that end, we have several significant initiatives in 2021 that we are excited to share.Currently, we are installing new ATMs at every location. These ATMs have improved functionality and resiliency, which will improve your experience. We also recently launched two new products: Save myChange and Student Checking. Save myChange adds a roundup feature to your debit card purchases, transferring the difference from your purchase amount and next highest dollar amount to a premium
priced savings account. Our new Student Checking product was built to really serve the needs of students. It comes with ATM surcharge rebates
and a feature we call “next day forgiveness”. More information on these products can be found on our website.

Later in 2021, we will be launching our data warehouse. This will allow us to more easily analyze trends and member preferences to make better
decisions, that will benefit you, our members. At the end of 2021, we plan on implementing a new online/mobile banking platform, which will provide you with more functionality and greater ease of use. These initiatives are significant investments of both people and dollar resources but are necessary to ensure that we continue to provide you an outstanding member experience. We look forward to
sharing our progress throughout 2021.

People’s Gives Back
People’s Credit Union recently made three $10,000 donations to area nonprofit organizations. Recipients were the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center and the East Bay Community Action Program. These donations will support services focused on child and family wellness and hunger assistance programs. “As a local credit union, it’s our responsibility to support and
invest in the communities that we serve,“ said Sean Daly, People’s Credit Union’s President & CEO. “Quality childcare and youth programs are a
vital investment in our community that need our support now more than ever and it goes without saying that food security is a very real issue with the impact that COVID-19 has had on some of our most vulnerable citizens.”

New ATM Rollout

We are pleased to announce that on Wednesday, January 27 we began updating our fleet of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). These new ATMs will provide a significantly improved experience. For those simply making withdrawals from your account, transferring funds between accounts or checking your balance, you will find the screens more intuitive and transaction times faster.
For those making deposits, you will no longer need to fill out an ATM deposit envelope to complete your cash and/or check transaction. Your cash and checks can be inserted directly into the ATM deposit receptor.

To replace each machine, we will need to make the ATM unavailable for several hours. Please note the following schedule of ATM closures:
North Kingstown Drive-up: Tuesday, February 9
Wakefield Walk-up: Thursday, February 11
Middletown Drive-up: Will be closed Friday, February 12, through Wednesday, February 17, as extensive work is needed to replace the ATM building.
Middletown Walk-up: Thursday, February 18
Portsmouth Drive-up: Tuesday, February 23
Completed Installs Include:
Bristol Drive-up: Upgraded on Wednesday, January 27
Newport Walk-up: Upgraded on Thursday, February 4
We apologize for the temporary inconvenience that these ATM closures will cause, but we believe the new machines will provide a much better member experience.
