Experienced banking professional to lead retail strategic initiatives with a focus on people, service, and growth
People’s Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Leiyina Tavarez as Head of Retail, where she will join the leadership team under Bill DeWitt, Head of Member Delivery & Marketing, In her role, Tavarez will provide strategic leadership for the credit union’s retail banking initiatives across all branch offices, the Member Service Center, and business development.

Over the past 20 years, Tavarez has built a well-rounded career in retail leadership. Most recently, as Vice President and Regional Manager at BankNewport, she led ten retail branches and fifty-three bankers, supporting performance, service, operations, and community engagement. Earlier in her career, she held progressively senior roles at Webster Bank, advancing from Banking Center Manager to Vice President, Consumer Banking Sales and Service Coach, and later as Small Business Relationship Manager.

Tavarez currently serves on the boards of the Providence Children’s Museum and New England Basecamp.
