Tax Refund Season Alert: Watch for Scams

Tax refund season is a busy time for scammers. Fraudsters may pose as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or other agencies via email, text, or phone, asking for personal or banking information to “process” or “release” your refund.

Remember: the IRS will never contact you by text, email, or social media to request sensitive information or immediate payment.

If you receive a suspicious message or request related to your tax refund, do not click links or provide personal information. When in doubt, contact us directly so we can help protect your account
