People’s Credit Union Announces Centennial Scholarship Honorees

People’s Credit Union has awarded six “Centennial Scholarships” to local area high school graduates. In honor of this year’s Centennial Celebration, People’s Credit Union introduced its “Centennial Scholarship” to benefit students graduating from area high schools that are members of People’s Credit Union. The program was established to encourage and reward high schoolers that exhibit community involvement and volunteerism that reflect the Credit Union’s Core Values of being genuine, trustworthy, earnest, empathetic, and resourceful.   The “Centennial Scholarships” each in the amount of $1,000 have been awarded to graduating high school seniors that have been accepted at college/university undergraduate or vocational programs. The scholarship awards may be used by the students at their discretion for educational expenses including tuition, school supplies, technology, or room & board. Winners were selected by an evaluation panel comprised of credit union employees. The scholarship award recipients, their graduating high school, and higher education school enrollment are:

“Education is a key area of focus for People’s Credit Union and in celebration of our Centennial, we thought it would be appropriate to assist and honor students who embrace our Core Values and are also committed to continuing their education beyond high school,” stated Sean Daly, President and Chief Executive Officer of People’s Credit Union. “We wish all the students the very best in their educational pursuits and careers thereafter,” Daly added.   All graduating high school students that are advancing to attend undergraduate college, university, or vocational schools and are current members of People’s Credit Union were eligible to apply for a “Centennial Scholarship”. All submissions were filled out online at peoplescu.com.
