Reporting to the EVP/COO, the BSA & Security Manager is responsible for the physical protection and security of the Credit Union’s property and assets. This individual is responsible for risk management of fraud and loss occurring from member/credit union assets and acts as the institution’s Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer and Security Officer.
As the Credit Union’s BSA Officer, the BSA & Security Manager is responsible for adherence to and compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies including CTR and SAR filings, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), 314a, etc. Administers the AML software system and ensures compliance. Oversees the duties and responsibilities of the BSA & Security Specialist.
Other responsibilities include working with members, Credit Union Management and law enforcement as it pertains to check fraud, debit card fraud, robberies/theft and other issues impacting member and Credit Union assets, and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations concerning security and related compliance issues.
The BSA & Security Manager conducts and/or coordinates training classes to applicable staff on BSA and security related topics including robbery training. They will ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the Credit Union’s security equipment and devices and evaluate equipment and systems for present and future needs.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, at least five years’ experience in a financial institution position(s) that would provide knowledge in all phases of security and BSA regulations. Experience working with Verafin AML software a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
