People’s Credit Union in the Community

People's Credit Union is dedicated to supporting and serving the local community and our Community Enhancement Committee is the embodiment of that dedication. The Committee consists entirely of employees who volunteer their time outside of work to organize events that have a positive impact on the communities that we serve.

Below are some recent instances of People’s Credit Union and our Community Enhancement Committee is making a difference in and around our state:

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center Backpack Drive

An annual tradition is our summer backpack drive for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Newport. Employees raised funds through dress down days and People’s partnered with local businesses to provide over seventy backpacks filled with supplies to children involved with the Center’s summer program.

Robert Potter League for Animals Heart and Sole Walk

The largest People’s Credit Union volunteer team in the history of the Credit Union assembled for the annual Potter League’s Heart & Sole Walk in Portsmouth. Forty-seven employees, children, family members and friends gathered with fifteen furry mascots to make the day a phenomenal success. People’s Credit Union walked away with the 1st place team award by raising $1,739.

South County Habitat for Humanity Bowl-A-Thon

Employees and family members brought their game to the Old Mountain Lanes in Wakefield to participate in the South County Habitat for Humanity Bowl-A-Thon. Twenty eight employees and family members enjoyed an evening filled with strikes, gutter balls and laughs as they came together to support South County Habitat. Over $1,100 was raised through dress down funds and sponsorships that bowlers obtained.
